WAREHOUSE SORTER

JOB SUMMARY
Receives stores and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined location codes.

Assembles customer fulfillment orders from stock and packages orders for shipping.

Marks materials with identifying information.

Records parts or items received or shipped meeting Company one hour dock to stock standards.

Uses inventory system (scanners) to enter inbounds into computer.

Controls security access to warehouse and maintains a clean and orderly warehouse.

• Education and/or Experience – High School Diploma or equivalent, warehouse experience a plus.
• Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet software’ Inventory software; Spreadsheet software; and Microsoft Word.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – Valid state issued Drivers’ License, ability to be forklift certified within three months of employment.
• Other Skills and Abilities – Be able to operate warehouse equipment (pallet jack, electric pallet jack, shrink-wrap machines. etc.)
